My first Bloggers’ Meet up experience in Smart Casual Double Linen Thrift Store Outfit

For some if not most, Smart Casual is a tricky look to pull of in most cases. I am not a very formal person for two reasons, my personality and size. For an outfit to stand out, you have to be wearing the outfit and not the other way round. By this I mean you do not want to look overwhelmed by the clothes you are wearing. For this reason, I do not like looking small or smaller in any of my outfit posts.

Secondly, I personal prefer edgy, interesting and daring outfits to formal or smart outfits. With me, I can’t have my looks be plain, I would want to include one thing on the other. Less is more with formal and smart casual outfits, which is a weakness of mine. Still, I had a blast putting this look together for my first ever bloggers’ meet-up.

At first,  I wanted to get a set of new outfits for this occasion. I found a really cute pale pink set from Zara but could not find the bottoms in my size. This disappointment turn out to be a blessing in disguise as I got to wear the linen set I had instead. The trousers are by Miss Selfridge, however both trouser and top are from the thrift shop. Style is always about what you make of it not the cost.

Here is yet another example of how harness makes everything better. Yes less is more for smart casual outfits, and the harness was the more I needed to make my outfit individual. With every look I create, I always try to infuse a bit of my personality into.  Fun loving, out-going and edgy. By keeping my colours limited, I was able to achieve this seamlessly effortless killers smart casual Look.

The bloggers meet-up on the other hand was also a great success. The girls I met up with and the organiser was really friendly and genuine. One of my biggest fear was that they would be snobbish and rude, luckily they weren’t. I would hate to have wasted a good outfit  and day on a bunch of fake people. As my first experience, I really enjoyed my time and would do it again. The venue was also amazing: bar, restaurant and club in one. Bodo’s Schloss in Kensington High Street.

On arrival, we were greeted by gorgeous ladies at the door, complementary drinks and good music. I also ordered a burger which was delicious. We did not get to stay long enough for the bar to turn into a night club, but I could already tell it would be lit! They had a very nice collection of late 90s bangers all through our stay. The manager was also the prefect host, free shots whilst often checking that the guest where ok. Needless to say that I can not wait to go back there again soon.

With todays’ look, my accessories are from emerging designers: their direct links can be found below too. My bag however is from Zara, a present to myself from myself for my birthday. Don’t you guys think my hair colour picks up the sun nicely?.  The video on how to achieve this colour is up on my youtube channel now.
